330 or 300 or 297.875Hz... Migh all be just as interesting... Or more likely a complete waste of time.
It does not matter what Vitavox did.
My motivations : There is only one, and it is not related to the lower knee of my Upper MF horn/driver, ...

I did a lot of those experiments a few years back, stuffing the back chamber of S2 driver with all imaginable things. During that time I did not use a dedicated lower MF channels and was concerned only about the S2 top end. I did not detect any diffe...
i thought of it as soft and chalked it up to not being as strong a motor as was needed and begrudgingly accepted that perhaps 'field coil' did not mean 'powerful motor'. I'm starting to think otherwise…
I had today a couple listening sessions with the Water Dropped Macondo. It was amassing and …. a little strange . The tweeter does whatever I was expected from my imaginary “conceptually-perfect” tweeter but it also it does something new for me, taki...
You live in a fantasy world Romy. Not one of those items could have evolved into the products you now use without the company responsible being able to develop the technology & materials to allow it to happen. They wou...

A visitor of my site pointed out that the guys at AudioHeritage site have heard this new DD66000 speaker.

At the bottom of your RAAL you have Vitavox S2 driver with
no lowpass filter, right? Do you have an alternator between Milq and S2? If you
do, then the alternator has some inductance and acts and a very mild filter. Anyhow.
I disagree with RAAL an...

hi. That’s a nice topic. I studied the VO like a maniac. For me there are 3 topics. First was obvious, easy, the horns. The bass horn for the ak151 is housing a rear chamber slightly open, giving the injector channel - that creates a lot charme, flav...

by someone who has experienced DIY background and basics how to „design sound“.
This is of course a precondition. Of course we can’t list a „kit“ here. If we
could, the VO...

I do not think that I changed
opinion about anything. I used the white suspension since my initial introduction
to of S2 and never likes any other suspensions. I do use metal suspension with
Got my new Le Cleach tractrix horns (320hz) for the Vitavox S2's. I'm x-ing over at 600hz with 2nd order 12db/Octave which I know is barbaric for you but it is all I have for the moment.
Why is it necessary...

Thanks, Jessie. I just will buy that Beswick Engineering valve, it looks like it is the right size and it look like it will do what I need
I made some experiments applying large gaskets to cover of the back chamber. I used a gaskets up to 12 mm but ...

Listening the argument of the field-coil’s people I note that they constantly stress the demagnetization subject of the driver’s magnet, advocating that with electromagnet “the field coil will always produce the same strength now and 100 years in the...

Mark,
It is hard to say. I owned T90A sometimes in 2001-2002. At that time I was going through the drivers like crazy and T90A was just one of them. Looking from now I do not think that I gave to many drivers a chance as I did not “work” them trying...
If you've tried both, and decided to keep the 16R versions, you've answered a question I've had for quite a while; I too use the 16R version, but have always wanted to try a pair of 8Ms with 8 Ohm coils (should have o...

In the thread “Vitavox S2 with Electromagnets.” there was plenty of discussion about RCA 1428 driver. Here is more to it: the Great Vintage Loudspeakers made a new production of the RCA 1428 driver.

Jessie,
A few hints. If you are moving from Parsifal/Encore and LammM1.1 world into the world of SETs and Horn then do not be in hurry to commit yourself and do not create to yourself artificial addictions.
When I talk about artificial addictions I...

MochaMike, yes you are correct it would not be the “softness” but rather”liquidity”. Still what you are taking is applicable for the paper cone 4 to 15" drivers not compression drivers. Who knows how the compression drivers will react.
To the rest ...
